The iconic zombie-shooter is back, in VR! It’s time to immerse yourself in the concrete jungle of Left 4 Dead 2. The sequel to Turtle Rock Studio's Left 4 Dead was released in November 2009. Since then, it has gained an occult following, described as the quintessential Zombie game.
All development credit goes to SD805 (aka Kem on discord), the man with the magic, bringing to life things no one else could! Myself and SpecialAgentinChargeWD40 bring skills that helped put a bow on a beautiful project by making it easier to install and tweaking it to run better. SACWD is accredited with all graphics, trailers, and logos.

2**)** Open L4D2VR.zip, and drag and drop the files into your game directory (steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2).
2a) Optionally, you can install a custom config from here to help with performance. Simply open the rar, and drag the cfg folder into steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2
3**)** Right click on Left 4 Dead 2 in your Steam library, and click properties. Uncheck “Use Desktop Game Theater while SteamVR is active.” Below that in the launch options section, paste the following:
-insecure -window -novid +mat_motion_blur_percent_of_screen_max 0 +crosshair 0
4**)** Now launch SteamVR, then launch Left 4 Dead 2.
Your settings should be appropriately set for you, aside from resolution. Your settings should look like this:
Make sure multicore rendering is disabled, vsync is disabled, and the display is set to windowed. You can set all the other settings to your liking.
If the camera is clipping into walls or you can’t pick up items, press down on the left stick to recenter the camera on your character (there’s limited roomscale movement yet).
Note: The host must have the mod installed. Other players can join with or without the VR mod.
Optional but highly encouraged HD textures downloads, otherwise the game is just optimized for low end pc.

The game has by default just 256mb allocated memory for models and sounds. If you want to use many mods, you can double the limit by adding the Steam start parameter:
-heapsize 750000
By default, melee weapons have the flashlight tied to hand position, just like guns. It is possible to change it to the players view instead by changing their slot for example with this mod:
When using med kits or being captured by a special infected, the scene is in 3rd person. With a mod you can also experience this in first person. If you want this, make sure to use the following mod, because the old, original one leads to crashes.
