Before we begin you must have:
- A Legally bought copy of Pistol Whip bought through the Oculus Store.
- A 64-Bit Windows Computer. To Check, enter the Control Panel → System and Security → System. Under 'System type:' If both your Operating System and Processor are 64bit / x64, you should be fine. If not then you, unfortunately, are unable to continue this guide at this moment in time. (Unless you have knowledge on how to extract & compile 64-bit Applications within your operating system)
- The 64-Bit Version of Java. If needed, installation will be explained later in the guide.
- A USB-A to USB-C Cable to connect your Quest to your Computer.
1. Enable Developer mode & Download SideQuest.
If you've already enabled developer mode / have already modded games such as Beat Saber or Synth Riders, you can skip this step.
Firstly, Enable developer mode within your headset. There are already plenty of guides on how to do this:

Then download SideQuest:

2. Backup your Pistol Whip APK
Plug in your headset and make sure SideQuest recognises it.
Click either the dots in the top right corner or the 'My Apps' tab in the bottom left corner to view all of your currently installed apps, then search for 'pistolwhip'.
Click on the gear icon on the right side of the shown app 'com.cloudheadgames.pistolwhip':

Click 'Backup APK File', 'Open Backups' and if its available, 'Backup Game Data':

Side Quest will prompt you with a notification on the top right of the screen when the backup is done.
3. Install Easy APK Tool.
